The weather wasn’t cooperating so instead of the Spring Fling street festival that typicall happens for CUNY’s Baruch College Spring Fling, the event took place in the gym — but that didn’t dampen the music, games, smoothies or the guys on stilts. It was a great party for a great college.

We decided our problem in life is that we don’t go to enough foam parties. That was our conclusion after attending one at Choate Rosemary Hall and making Maui Wowi Smoothies to accompany their event. It was fun to return to Choate again for the slippery good times and help celebrate end of semester with the students — good “clean” fun.

It didn’t feel like the end of April outside with rainstorms beating down on the Adirondacks, so SUNY Canton moved Springfest inside and had a great time doing it. We made Maui Wowi smoothies for roughly a thousand students (or more like 500 students twice each!) as they picked up their yearbooks and enjoyed hot dogs, ice cream, nachos and Maui Wowi smoothies (we were the healthy choice!) And we got to meet the SUNY Canton mascot, Roody, who was the only one to return his smoothie. Thanks for having us, Canton. See you next year, hopefully in the sunshine.

We love working with colleges. After all, what could be bad about setting up a tiki bar and making smoothies for college kids? Our visit to Dean College over the weekend was no exception, but we were struck by the friendliness of everyone there. In the month of April we visited over 40 college campuses in Northeast/Mid-Atlantic alone — and Dean was the last one of the month. Needless to say we were a bit fatigued! But everyone from the campus activities staff to the food service people (a special thank you to Ray from Sodexo) to the students themselves made this visit a nice conclusion to what was a record month of Maui Wowi on campuses around the country.

The weather was iffy but the crowd was totally into having a great spring party at Westfield State University. The student activities folks put together a rodeo theme and yes, we had our Maui Wowi tiki bar set up anyway – the theme doesn’t have to be Hawaiian to have Maui Wowi. They also had a hula-hoop contest, which I guess is quasi-Hawaiian?? Everyone had a great time.

Last night was University of Massachusetts-Lowell’s Mardi Gras Madness event. The DJ supplied the madness (we’re still hearing the ringing in our ears) and Maui Wowi smoothies helped supply the Mardi Gras, with custom cups and smoothie flavors like Pina Colada, Strawberry Banana and Orchard Peach. Next up, even in today’s rain: Fordham University, Wheaton College and Westfield State University. Tomorrow: Wilkes University, Westminster Choir College….and more in the days and weeks ahead. We hope our smoothie-making arms hold out!

Our spring college tour continued at Springfield College last night for their annual “Taste of SC” Event, which was a luau theme. As you can see, the students took their apparel and makeup seriously.
