Media companies like ABC Television, American Media, WebMD, Parent Society and AOL have relied on Maui Wowi to create exceptional client appreciation events events at their advertising agency clients’ offices. Media properties from television networks to print and online magazines want to reach their clients and prospects in a unique way that gives them a branding platform and a time and space to interact with busy media planners, and a Maui Wowi event works perfectly to reach this goal.
Maui Wowi’s role is to set up our portable bar at the agency location and make smoothies for the agency personnel. We can handle groups of 50 to several hundred in one or two hours of serving time.
Most often, the media companies supply logo souvenir cups so the media team can have something to remind them of the sponsor and their programming. Maui Wowi makes it easy for the media company by receiving shipment of cups (usually 24 to a box), prepping them for use (removing packaging and plastic) and taking them to the job site. We also receive signage and other supplies from our media clients and bring everything to the job site so all our client has to do is show up and engage the agency people.
The media companies promote these events in several ways: working with the agency office manager to let staff know about the smoothie event via email a few days prior, and then the day of the event; photographing the event and using it on their own websites and in other promotional settings, and often doing a drawing for a giveaway of an iPad or some other valued (but reasonable) prize. The agency personnel put a business card into a bowl and a drawing takes place at the end of the event. The media company then has the contact information of all the attendees for further follow up.
Perhaps the best part of this type of Maui Wowi smoothie event is the time it gives media reps to spend with their agency clients. We’ve worked with some brands that are newer and less well known that, say, a big TV network, and the conversations we hear show how interested in the agency media buyers are to learn about media outlets for their brands.
Media companies aren’t the only firms we’ve worked with for client appreciation events. Maui Wowi is also a popular choice for financial services firms like Transamerica, Prudential Securities and Van Kempen Securities. These financial wholesalers want to interact with wealh advisors in firms such as Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch. Maui Wowi provides an on-site espresso/cappuccino service, or smoothies, usually set up in a break room or conference room. Just as with the media companies, the reps from the financial wholesale firms are able to spend quality time with the wealth advisors over an espresso or a smoothie.
