Lenox Hill Hospital, part of the vast North Shore University Hospital system in New York, held its annual employee appreciation day yesterday and did so with its usual exuberance. The beach-theme event featured barbequed chicken and ribs, corn bread, baked beans and other great dishes; as well as Maui Wowi smoothies. We served several thousand people in shifts starting at 11am and running through until 1am. P.S. This was on the same day as the “500 year weather event” on Long Island where 15 inches of rain fell in 3 hours!
