It’s back-to-campus season for colleges nationwide. Maui Wowi kicked off the season with a big event at Yeshiva University’s Stern College for Women in Manhatttan. We’ve been visiting Stern for many years and always love to return to serve this friendly group. Especially popular yesterday: our Frozen Cappuccino with whipped cream and caramel sauce!

Maui Wowi joined HarlemRBI’s big celebration today with smoothies and shave ice for 1000+ neighborhood children and families.  Harlem RBI provides inner-city youth with opportunities to play, learn and grow. They use the power of teams to coach, teach and inspire youth to recognize their potential and realize their dreams. Today’s Real Kids Championship Day included a huge street festival and ballgame featuring the champions of the Sharon and Jackie Robinson Leagues

For the past several years Maui Wowi has been making smoothies for the 3,000+ emoloyees of Lenox Hill Hospital, part of the North Shore LIJ system. The Lenox Hill folks put on a huge party complete with music and great food – including BBQ chicken we look forward to every year (our reward for making smoothies for them!)

Maui Wowi does smoothie events — as well as shave ice, espresso and hot cocoas — for employee appreciation events in companies large and small. Hospitals are one of our favorite event types – the cross section or nurses, doctors, administrators, maintenance staff and all the other folks who make a 24/7 place tick is invigorating.

Maui Wowi smoothies has been traveling to Thompson, PA, for a half dozen years now for Family Visiting Day at Camp CHEN-A-WANDA. We started with one tiki bar but now we do two as families, campers and counselors have come to anticipate our visit. We made about 2,000 smoothies yesterday – strawberry banana, pina colada and Lemon Wave (our frozen lemonade). We hope to be back next year!

Maui Wowi can create a Smoothie Monday (or any day of the week) event that runs for a month. This will enable you to test response to a new product before you make a  commitment to it.

Your role will be to:

• Provide work space and facilities, which is easy — all we need is electric for our blenders, and ice.
• Promote to employees via email and flyers that we will be on site selling smoothies. We’ll even design the flyer for you.
• Code your cash register so you can track smoothie sales.

Our role will be to:

• Offer samples to all employees to encourage sales.
• Test different flavors each time (we will offer three choices each day).
• Test price points to see what the right price/value point is for your employee base.

Maui Wowi has been offering espresso drinks in addition to our smoothies for about a decade, but understandably most folks still know us for our smoothies and our Hawaiian theme.  We want you to know that espresso catering — including espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos — as well as cold-brewed ice coffee and hot coffee drinks — are an exciting part of what we offer.

This photo was taken at a Princeton University class reunion event for 400 people, where we provided espresso drinks for two nights in a row. if you look closely you’ll see a Hawaiian themed drink menu with offerings like Caramel Mocha Delight, CoCo Loco Mocha and Nutty Hawaiian. These are lattes with ingredients like Macadamia and Almond syrups along with shaved chocolate. The theme of this event was Hawaiian, but we also offer espresso menus that are more traditional for catered events like weddings, bar mitzvahs, corporate meetings, client and employee appreciation events and more. Our servers can dress in black and white or any attire that’s appropriate for your event,

 You’ll also notice that we use paper hot cups as our standard, however we can use china cups if you provide them. There was no alcohol at this event but if you’d like espresso drinks with Sambuca, Kahlua, Grand Marnier or any other cordial, just supply them and we’ll pour it for adults at a private event.

The nursing staff at Long Island Jewish (LIJ) Hospital System’s Zucker Hillside Hospital got a treat for Annual Nurses Appreciation Week with Maui Wowi smoothies blended to order out in front of their hospital. Maui Wowi’s staff made hundreds of smoothies over a few hours and put a smile on many faces.
