When a corporate event planner or bar mitzvah parent  or campus activities planner books Maui Wowi for smoothies, espresso drinks or a hot cocoa bar, they frequently ask how many hours we serve. Simple: Whatever you need.

 We’ve done corporate events such as open houses for buyers during Fashion Week, an all-day corporate health and wellness event or a promotional giveaway at a trade show where we’re served smoothies or espresso drinks for eight hours.

When we’re catering a bar/bat mitzvah, we’ll generally make smoothies from the start of the party until just after dinner but before dessert, which could be 3-4 hours of serving time.  For some bar/bat mitzvah parties, we’ll set up just for the cocktail hour or at the end of the party for a take-home treat (for those events we put plastic lids on the cups).

 For backyard parties we tend to go the whole length of the party, especially if we’re adding alcohol to the smoothies to make pina coladas and margaritas.  That can be 4-5 hours.

 Campus events range in type from orientations, welcome-back, spring festivals, coffee houses, wellness fairs, club fairs, late-night parties and everything else under the sun. For colleges we typically serve anywhere from two to four hours. In some cases though, we have to jam a lot into a short window – perhaps during a class break – and serve hundreds of smoothies in under an hour. That’s no problem for us. We can blend 300+ smoothies in an hour with two staff, and more if we add people and blenders. For espresso drinks, we can do about 60 per hour with one machine, and if there’s sufficient power, we can double that by adding another machine.

 Bottom line: we have no set number of hours we’ll serve. Want us for 24 hours straight or 30 minutes, we’ve got our Vitamix blenders powered on and our espresso machines pulling shots!
